Why a prototype first.

Most product work fails at the handoff between a deck and a build. A slide can look finished and still hide the hard parts: the empty states, the permissions, the copy nobody wrote, the journey that only works if you already know the product.

A working prototype is the quickest way to find those out. You click through real screens in your own browser and judge the direction by using it, not by sitting through a presentation.

It also shows you what your visitors will see. People judge a website in a fraction of a second and decide whether to trust it before they read a word, so it pays to see it working while it is still quick to change.

The research behind it

What you get.

Six things in your hands before the production build goes ahead.

  1. 01

    Brief and conversion map

Who it is for, what they must do, and which numbers matter.

  2. 02

    Information architecture

The structure settled before any visual design.

  3. 03

    Success measures

Agreed up front, so launch has a scoreboard.

  4. 04

    Clickable prototype

Real screens and real flows, in your browser.

  5. 05

    Interface system

Type, colour and parts that still fit on page ten.

  6. 06

    A clear price

Websites are £2,500, or £3,000 over three months. Larger builds are quoted.

How a project runs.

Six steps. You use the prototype before the build goes ahead.

  1. 01

    Discuss the brief

Your business, audience, goals and what it must do.

We talk through the business, who it is for, what they need to do, and the functionality it needs. Settled before anyone opens a design file.

  2. 02

    Agree the scope

Deliverables, price, timeline, milestones and exclusions.

The proposal sets out what is included, the price, the timeline, the payment milestones and what is not included. Work starts once it is agreed.

  3. 03

    Prototype

Something real to click through and judge.

You click through a working prototype in your browser. If the direction or the journey is wrong, you find out before the production build.

  4. 04

    Review and approve

Your feedback, and any scope changes agreed.

We collect your feedback and agree any changes to the scope. The production build goes ahead once you approve it.

  5. 05

    Build and test

The approved work, built and checked.

The same team builds the approved solution, checks the key journeys and prepares it for launch. It lives on a repository you own.

  6. 06

    Launch and care

Live, then Aevion Care on the agreed date.

We launch the agreed work and start Aevion Care on the date your payment option sets.

Questions.

What does a website cost?

Website Launch is £2,500, paid upfront. Website Launch Flex is £3,000, paid as £1,000 a month for three months. Aevion Care, which looks after the site once it is live, is a separate £500 a month. The pages, features, revision rounds, delivery milestones and exclusions are written into your proposal before work starts. SaaS, web apps, business tools and other larger builds are quoted from the brief.

When do we pay?

On Website Launch, the £2,500 website fee is paid upfront. On Website Launch Flex, it is £1,000 a month for three months. Either way, you click through a working prototype and approve it before the production build goes ahead, and the payment milestones are written into your proposal.

Do we actually own it?

Yes. The code lives on your repository, the content in a CMS on your account, the domain and hosting in your name. Nothing is rented back to you, and nothing is held to keep you here.

How long does it take?

A typical marketing site runs four to eight weeks from first call to launch. A SaaS product or internal tool takes longer because the product itself is the work. Waiting on copy, access, and decisions is usually the bottleneck, so we agree that schedule up front.

Why does Website Launch Flex cost more?

Website Launch Flex spreads the website fee over three months: £1,000 a month, £3,000 in total. That is £500 more than paying £2,500 upfront. Aevion Care is charged separately on both options.

When does Aevion Care start?

On Website Launch, Aevion Care starts the month after launch. On Website Launch Flex, it starts at launch, so you pay £1,500 a month while the website instalments run: £1,000 for the website and £500 for care. After the third instalment, only Aevion Care continues, at £500 a month, unless you cancel under the terms of your agreement.

What does Aevion Care include?

Managed hosting, SSL and security set-up, routine maintenance and updates, backups where your platform allows, uptime and performance monitoring, Aevion View (your own dashboard of traffic, enquiries, speed and uptime), lead tracking where it is set up, technical support, and a set allowance of minor updates. Your agreement sets out the update allowance, support hours, response targets, third-party fees, exclusions and how to cancel. Redesigns, substantial new features, complex integrations and work beyond the allowance are scoped and quoted separately.

What is Aevion View?

Aevion View is the dashboard that comes with Aevion Care. You sign in to see your website's visitors, where they come from, which pages they read, the enquiries it brings in, and how fast and reliable it is. More tools are on the way, and they arrive in the same place.

What happens after launch?

We launch the agreed work and walk you through editing it yourselves. Aevion Care then looks after hosting, maintenance, monitoring and minor updates for £500 a month, starting on the date your payment option sets.

Do you only build marketing sites?

No. We build websites, SaaS products, web apps, ecommerce stores, business tools for teams, and the design systems that keep them consistent. If it is a product people use in a browser, we can ship it.

What if something breaks after launch?

With Aevion Care, technical support, monitoring and fixes within your update allowance are covered. Without it, we quote fixes when you need them. Either way, if something we delivered does not work as agreed, we fix it; your proposal sets out any warranty period.

Do we get a written contract?

Yes. Every project starts with a written proposal that sets out the scope, price, timeline, payment milestones and what is not included. It works alongside our terms of business, and if the two ever differ, your proposal wins.

Can we cancel?

Either side can end a project if the other seriously breaches the agreement and does not put it right within 14 days; you pay for the work done to that point. Aevion Care can be cancelled as set out in your care agreement. Our terms of business explain both.

How do you handle our data, and our customers' data?

Only to do the work. We keep it confidential, and where we handle personal data on your behalf we sign a data processing agreement that meets the UK GDPR. Our privacy notice explains how we treat our own contacts' data.

Will our website be accessible?

Accessibility is part of the brief, not an extra. We design to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. If you sell to consumers in the EU, the European Accessibility Act may apply to you, and we will point out what it means for your project.
