Netlify
Netlify is a fit for a static or hybrid site a team already runs there. We meet the account you have, with the same preview-first rule.
What it is
Netlify is a git-based hosting platform for sites and functions: previews, a CDN, forms, identity (historically), and split testing. It helped invent the Jamstack workflow that Vercel later owned in the Next.js world. Google, Peloton, Citrix, and Twilio have all hosted properties here.
It is a strong fit for static and hybrid sites, not for a general cloud. Build plugins, branch deploys, and a sane DNS story are the reasons teams stay.
What it does
Teams use Netlify for marketing sites, docs, and JAMstack apps with preview deploys. Functions cover forms and small APIs. Larger data still lives somewhere else.
We use it when the site already belongs there, or when the stack is not Next-on-Vercel. The project and the domain stay in your account.
Why we use it
Previews and hosting when that is already the house.
Marketing sites with a preview on every change. Forms that no longer email a personal inbox. Brand teams who comment on a link. Finance does not have to open a new vendor if the old one still serves.
The host is furniture. The preview is the ritual.
