Vue.js

We build in React by default. When a team already lives in Vue, we meet them there, or we wrap the new work so it can sit beside the old.

vuejs.org

What it is

Vue.js is an open-source UI framework created by Evan You. It is the other mainstream component model next to React: templates or render functions, reactive state, a gentler learning curve for teams coming from HTML. Alibaba, Xiaomi, GitLab, and Nintendo have all shipped Vue at scale.

Nuxt is the production framework around it, the way Next.js is around React. Vue is the library. The product still needs routing, data, and a host. In China and in a lot of Laravel shops, Vue is the default rather than the alternative.

What it does

Teams use Vue for dashboards, marketing sites, and apps where the markup should still look like markup. It is a strong fit when the team already writes Vue, or when the CMS and the front end want a template-first mental model.

We build in Vue when that is the language the keepers already speak. We do not rewrite a healthy Vue app into React for taste.

Why we use it

A Vue surface when that is already the house.

Nuxt when the product wants a framework. Plain Vue when a widget has to live inside an existing page. Types and a design system either way. If they want Next.js later, the design system survives the hop.

We will not lecture a Vue team into a rewrite they cannot staff.
