Wix
Wix is a first site for some teams. We will make it look like the company, and we will tell you which product ideas it will not carry.
What it is
Wix is a hosted drag-and-drop website builder, with ADI (artificial design) as the on-ramp and a huge app market around it. It is built for people who will not open a repository. The result can look fine. It can also look like a builder.
Velo is the developer layer if you outgrow the canvas. Most Wix sites never get there. For a company that wants a serious product, Wix is usually a holding page, not a destination.
What it does
Teams use Wix for a first site, an event page, or a small local business that will not hire an agency twice. App market widgets cover bookings, stores, and blogs at a basic level.
We use it only when the brief is honest about the ceiling. We do not dress a Wix site as a custom product. If the company needs a system, we leave.
Why we use it
Another hosted start. The same honest limits.
If the next brief is a tool or a store you have to own, we plan Next.js or Shopify. A no that saves a rebuild is part of the work. The writing survives the hop. The lock-in does not.
We will not decorate a ceiling and call it a sky.
Built on it
Local retailers
A large share of first company sites worldwide are Wix.
Event pages
One-off launches and conferences still start on Wix because it is fast.
Coca-Cola
Has used Wix for campaign microsites rather than as the global platform.
Wix themselves
wix.com is the flagship, and a demonstration of the upper bound.
Franchisees
Brands sometimes hand Wix to local owners as a constrained template.
